The Kiyâm grove is in its sixth generation in Mill Creek. This year's growth is putting up 15 to 20 foot culms in pots, which is genuinely unusual — most potted bamboo tops out at half that. The reason ours doesn't is six years of compounding root mass.

On black bamboo specifically: the global stock is going through a flowering cycle right now, which is bamboo's way of resetting itself. After flowering, plants typically die back hard and the global supply gets thin for years. The Kiyâm grove predates the bloom. That's not marketing — it's biology, and it means every mature black bamboo we deploy is a hedge against a market that's tightening.
